Advantages and disadvantages of glass curtain wall performance

The glass curtain wall adopts the hollow glass which is composed of mirror glass and ordinary glass, and the interlayer is filled with dry air or inert gas. There are two layers of insulating glass and three layers of insulating glass. Two-layer insulating glass is composed of two layers of glass and a sealing frame to form an interlayer space; three-layer glass is composed of three layers of glass to form two interlayer spaces. Insulating glass has the advantages of sound insulation, heat insulation, frost resistance, moisture resistance, increased daylighting, and high wind pressure resistance.

Glass curtain walls also have some limitations, such as light pollution and high energy consumption. The curtain wall of the building is made of coated glass or coated glass. When direct sunlight and sky light hit the glass surface, the reflection glare is generated due to the mirror reflection of the glass. However, with the development of glass curtain wall technology and the continuous emergence of new material technologies, the materials used in glass curtain walls in buildings can better solve the problems of light pollution and energy consumption.
